| Porto Pirgos Hotel is situated on a hill in the middle of a large park with trees in that stretch of the Calabria coast which extends from the Gulf of S. Eufemia to Capo Vaticano and, more precisely, in the fascinating land around Parghelia, 5 km from Tropea. The Hotel overlooks the sea. The centre of the building is the high tower containing 2 of the best rooms, with wonderful views of the coast below. Surrounded by a large park of olive trees, eucalyptus trees, prickly-pear cactuses and bougainvillea bushes, the Hotel offers a vast choice of facilities: a large swimming-pool with a small and charming bar, a tennis court and a bowling alley In its complex original structure, a restored old courtly residence, the Hotel preserves traces of its Spanish origins. This style is characterised by the precious mosaic floor that, today, adorns the indoor restaurant as well as on the colonnade on its terraces which form open-air dining rooms with a spectacular view of the sea, giving the Hotel the romantic atmosphere of a “relais”. - Porto Pirgos is the ideal place for people who love the sun and the sea. If you feel lazy you can relax on the sun beds around the large and scenic swimming-pool (with Jacuzzi) situated in the middle of a large garden. If you are fond of the seaside, you can go down to the private beach where parasols, deckchairs and sun beds are at your disposal together with another swimming-pool and a small bar. If you prefer to venture further, a range of means can be found: from motorboats to windsurfs, from canoes to pedalos and to the useful shuttle-bus to get around the park. - The Hotel offers 18double rooms, all with antique furniture, air-conditioning, TV, fridge-bar, safe and independent furnished balcony. Each room is individually furnished with terracotta tiled or wooden floors and classic Old English porcelain bathrooms .All rooms have partial sea view, with the superior rooms, which are larger, having a full sea view. |
