| Archelao farmhouse lies in the countryside 5 km away from the town of Oristano (one of Sardinia's capital provinces) and a few kilometres drive from the beautifully unspoilt beaches of the western coast of the island. It consists of a main house and 5 recently built bungalows. Accommodation 5 mini suites all with air conditioning, lounge with sofa bed, double room, bathroom with shower. One suite has a kitchen. Rooms photos. The cooking All our dishes are made with the farm produce and happily combine Sardinian tradition with innovation. Farm life workshops Explore rural life through our workshops: In groups or individually you will be able to learn how to make cheese, pasta or sweets and cakes in the traditional Sardinian way. Just let us know if you are interested in finding out more about the hidden secrets of life in the countryside. Products Meats The meat of our dishes comes only from animals bred in our working farm. The breeding consists of sheep, goats, poultry and pigs which are fed with corn and alfaalfa or lucerne (Medicago sativa) cultivated in our farm. Cheese, cold meats and salami We produce fresh and mature cheese from our sheep and goat’s milk. We produce pork sausages, hams, bacon and lard which are served in our restaurant The farm production In some farmhouse areas we grow vegetables, olive trees and fruit trees growing; so you may have fresh and tasty fruits like oranges, lemons, tangerines, peaches, plums, apples and pears. Preserves You can choose among our farmhouse fruit preserves (jams and marmalades), vegetables in oil (wild thistle, artichokes, aubergines and peppers). Finally we suggest our lemon cream, a liqueur made of lemon and goat milk. |
